Florentine

Through her recipes, Emiko Davies takes us on a stroll through the streets of Florence, past bakeries and pastry shops bustling with espresso sippers, colourful markets, busy trattorias, butchers, hole-in-the-wall wine bars and late-night gelaterias. She stays true to the most classic recipes and traditions of the Renaissance city, which inspired her to start her eponymous blog five years ago while living in Florence - revealing an unpretentious and unchanging cuisine that tells the unique story of its city, dish by dish.

Deep South

From its roots in Cajun and Creole to the barbecue and smoking techniques of rural communities, Deep South showcases southern cooking as a cuisine that deserves to be heralded alongside those of Italy, France and Japan. Chef Brad McDonald runs The Lockhart and Shotgun restaurants in London where he cooks and celebrates the food of his homeland, Mississippi. Brad's food is modern, seasonal American cooking. Contemporary and innovative, with classics including gumbo, cornbread with honey butter, grilled oysters, pimiento cheese, and lemon icebox pie, this is comfort food given an urban edge – a neat spin on soul food classics.

Green Kitchen Smoothies

In Green Kitchen Smoothies, bestselling authors and bloggers David Frenkiel and Luise Vindahl share their favourite smoothie recipes, as well as some exciting ideas that will give you the confidence to create your own. Divided into two main sections, Simple Smoothies and Showstoppers, this is a book perfect for both smoothie enthusiasts and newbies. There are options for pre- and post-workout, bedtime and breakfast, and smoothies especially for kids (or adults) who need more greens in their diet. David and Luise also share their recipes for nut milks, juices, granola and more, which will add extra sustenance and texture to your drinks.

Coming in August...

Good Good Food

In her latest cookbook, Sarah Raven brings together her medical knowledge and love of seasonal food to explain exactly how and why certain ingredients help protect your body and give you the best possible chance of a longer, healthier life. With more than 250 recipes, including coconut sugar marmalade, spiced aubergine salad with pomegranate raita, lemon chicken and summer herb salad, cashew hummus, black bean burritos, blood orange sorbet and basil yoghurt ice cream, there's plenty of inspiration, whether you're cooking for friends or making quick weekday lunchboxes for the family. What's more, Sarah includes 100 mini 'superfood' biographies, where she draws on her expertise and experience to explain the science behind good-for-you ingredients such as kale, broccoli, salmon, red wine, blueberries, apples and seeds.
