Marshmallow s’mores with chocolate

Gooey blistered marshmallow sandwiched between crunchy biscuit. Don’t be tempted to thread too many marshmallows onto each skewer – you want them all to be hot, soft, and sticky so they melt into the chocolate biscuit. Be prepared to get very messy with these skewers.

Ingredients

8 marshmallows
8 dark chocolate biscuits

For the hot chocolate

600ml cups whole milk
pinch salt
100g dark chocolate, roughly chopped

Method

  1. Start by making the hot chocolate. Put the milk into a small pan and heat gently. Once boiling, remove from the heat and add the salt. Divide the chocolate between 4 mugs, top with the hot milk, and stir to melt the chocolate.
  2. Take 4 small skewers and thread 2 marshmallows onto each. Toast the marshmallows over an open flame or under a hot grill until charred and sticky – be careful not to touch the marshmallows as they will be very hot. Remove from the heat. Take two biscuits and sandwich one marshmallow skewer in between, pull the skewer out, and repeat with the remaining skewers and biscuits. Eat your s’mores with a mug of hot chocolate for an indulgent treat.
