Christmas dinner is something I look forward to every year. I spend days brooding over my recipes and planning my days. Christmas dinner is about family traditions combined with new rituals you’ve created. Most of my Christmas recipes come from my grandmother and mother.

In Denmark, Christmas celebrations take place on the evening of 24th December. We start at 6pm with a glass of champagne and follow with dinner at 7pm. It’s true hygge, and an evening that I love. After dinner we dance around the Christmas tree and sing carols, which in my family is not taken as seriously as I would like. After dinner and dancing it’s finally time to open the presents.

Here are the recipes for my Christmas dinner with a selection of salads that I think a dream match for roasted duck. As we say in Danish: God jul!
