At university, weekends are usually a time for a massive chill out. There’s always one highlight of the weekend: the Sunday roast. When the wind is howling and the rain is pouring there is nothing like huddling round a table for a big roast with all the trimmings. Weekends give you time to do this and it can be fun preparing all the bits then chilling out with your mates before you all sit down to eat.

Weekends are also a great time to make stews and casseroles – great whether you’re eating in front of the TV or have a few people coming round for dinner. Just cook them in the morning and leave them until you’re ready to eat that night.
