Ingredients

140g plain flour
50g chilled unsalted butter, diced small
230g caster sugar
30g oats
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
2 teaspoons cinnamon
125g unsalted butter, softened
1 small orange, finely grated zested
1 small orange, juiced
2 eggs, lightly beaten
50g ground hazelnuts
1 teaspoon baking powder
A pinch fine sea salt
6-8 black plums, seeds removed and halved

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and butter a 22cm springform cake tin. For the crumble, place 40g of the flour in a bowl and rub in the butter. Mix in 50g sugar, the oats, seeds and cinnamon. Set aside. For the cake, beat together the softened butter, remaining sugar and orange zest until fluffy. Gradually beat in the eggs. Combine the remaining flour, hazelnuts, baking powder and salt. Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with the orange juice. Pour into the tin and push in the plums cut-side down. Top with crumble. Bake for 1 hour, or until an inserted skewer comes out clean.
