Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 quantities Simple vinaigrette, made with red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons cumin seeds, lightly crushed
200g red cabbage, finely sliced
2 carrots, sliced into julienne strips
1 crunchy red apple
salt
pepper

Method

  1. Mix the vinaigrette with the cumin seeds. Place the cabbage and carrots in a large salad bowl. Core the apple then cut it into julienne strips, leaving the skin on, and add to the salad bowl. Pour over enough dressing to coat the ingredients, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside for 20 minutes before serving to allow the flavours to mingle.
