Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 tablespoon dried red chillies
2 red onions, roughly chopped
2 teaspoons lime juice
1 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. In a pestle and mortar or spice grinder, crush the chillies into a rough powder.
  2. Place the chilli powder into a food processor along with the onions, lime juice and salt and blitz to a paste. Taste and adjust the salt and lime juice as needed, and serve alongside string hoppers or kiribath.

Note

  • Be very careful handling and grinding the chillies, wear gloves if you can.
