This is a real snuggler – a fireside drink for the Bloomsbury set. Curl up with a good book after dinner and this spiced, creamy drink as the ideal companion.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
ice cubes
1 part benedictine
2 parts whole milk
orange slices
freshly grated nutmeg

Method

  1. Combine the Benedictine and milk in a shaker, or a jar with a lid, and add plenty of ice.
  2. Shake vigorously until well chilled and the milk is frothing, then strain into the glass using a mesh strainer or sieve.
  3. Top up your drink with an extra ice cube (or two) and decorate with half-moon-shaped slices of orange and a generous grating of nutmeg.
