Makeovers for the classic store-cupboard staple.

There has been a steep increase in pasta eating since my youth. Back then, we might have had macaroni cheese, spag bol or lasagne, but nothing more adventurous. Then, in the late 1980s, pasta of every shape and size became the thing to have, and so it has continued. As a bowl of pasta makes such a quick, easy and filling meal, this is totally understandable. Plus, the possibilities are endless: I think everyone has a pasta dish they consider their own. My mum’s was macaroni cauliflower cheese with some ham or bacon thrown in, if we were very lucky.
