Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
250g cucumber, peeled and cut into four lengthwise, seeds removed
1 onion, finely chopped
1 large garlic clove, smashed and chopped
freshly ground black pepper
1 cup thick yoghurt
salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
chopped coriander leaves or ground cumin

Method

  1. Slice the cucumber pieces thinly crosswise or, if you prefer, grate it. Mix cucumber, onion, garlic, black pepper and yoghurt together and put in the refrigerator for some hours. Mix in the salt just before serving in order to avoid drawing water out of the cucumber. Decorate with circles of chilli powder and finely chopped coriander leaf or ground cumin.
