Six ways with toast

Toast was voted one of the UK’s favourite smells (back in a very officiallooking Daily Mail survey in 2010). It’s up there with the smell of bacon, freshly cleaned houses and roast dinners. And for good reason, we say. There aren’t many problems that a slice or two with a good cup of tea can’t solve. Here are six recipes for you to create.

The bread maketh the toast. So choose wisely. Go for an unsliced loaf rather than something pre-sliced. We’ve suggested a bread type in each of the recipes but generally speaking any of the below will work well with the recipes in this section.

Sourdough (brown or white)

Multigrain or seeded loaf

Spelt loaf
