The Vesper martini is named after James Bond’s doomed love interest, Vesper Lynd, in the movie Casino Royale. The double-agent martini, with gin and vodka, garnished with olives and a twist, is the connoisseur’s martini of choice. The perfection of a martini is in the quality of the ingredients.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
45ml good-quality gin
30ml good-quality vodka
15ml vermouth
3 green olives and a twist of lemon, to garnish

Method

  1. Stir the gin, vodka and vermouth over ice until chilled. Strain into a chilled double martini glass.
  2. Serve with a garnish of 3 skewered green olives and a twist of lemon.
