Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
50g quinoa
filtered water, (enough to cover the quinoa well)

Method

  1. Thoroughly rinse the quinoa, then soak in water for 6–8 hours.
  2. Rinse the quinoa, then place in a clean bowl and cover with a damp cloth.
  3. Allow the quinoa to sprout – this will usually take 2 days.
  4. Rinse the sprouted quinoa thoroughly again, then place it in a clean jar and fill with 500 ml of water. Cover the jar with a cloth and allow the quinoa to ferment for a couple of days.
  5. When it’s ready, the liquid will become slightly ‘fizzy’ and have a slight lemony taste.
  6. Strain the liquid into a clean jar, seal with a lid and keep in the fridge for 5–7 days.
