If you have been organised enough to make extra bolognaise sauce, then this is a quick and easy mid-week option as all you have to cook is the pasta.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
250g pasta of your choice, such as orecchiette or fusili
500g Quick-and-easy bolognaise sauce
125g grated cheddar cheese
100g grated mozzarella cheese

Method

  1. Preheat the grill. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil over high heat. Add a good pinch of salt. Add the pasta and stir until the water has returned to the boil. Reduce the heat, cover and cook the pasta at a fast simmer for 8 minutes. Drain well.
  2. Heat the bolognaise sauce gently in a saucepan over low heat. Combine the cheeses in a bowl.
  3. Mix the pasta with the bolognaise sauce and two-thirds of the cheese. Spoon into a 2 litre baking dish and scatter the remaining cheese over the top. Cook under the grill for 8–10 minutes, or until golden brown.
