Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick cinnamon
2 oranges
2 lemons
1 x 750ml bottle red wine
soda water

Method

  1. Combine the water, sugar and cinnamon in a saucepan over a gentle heat until the sugar dissolves. Increase heat and boil for 5 minutes. Cool the syrup. Slice the oranges and lemons and put in a bowl. Pour the syrup over the fruit and marinate for at least 4 hours. Fill a large glass jug with ice. Add the drained fruit, 1/2 cup syrup and red wine. Stir well and add chilled soda water, to taste. Serve in chilled wine glasses.
