An economical and refreshing drink that can be stored in bottles in the refrigerator, and diluted as needed.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
8 cups sugar
1 litre water
2 oranges, rinded
1 lemon, rinded
3 lemons, juiced
6 oranges, juiced
30g citric acid
1 x 25g packet epsom salts
lemon slices, to decorate

Method

  1. In a large saucepan dissolve the sugar in the water and boil. Add the citrus rind and juice, citric acid and Epsom salts. Stir until dissolved, strain and bottle. Chill. Put 1–2 tablespoons syrup in each glass then fill with ice and water. Decorate with lemon slices.
