Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
30g butter
1/4-1/3 cup water

Method

  1. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. With your fingers, rub butter into the flour, until evenly distributed. Stir in enough water to make a firm dough. Roll out on a lightly floured board to about 3 mm thickness. Cut with a floured 4 cm biscuit cutter into small rounds. With a rolling pin, roll each round into a very thin round or oval and prick with a fork. Bake on a baking tray in a hot oven 200°C until they are puffed and golden.
