Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 quantity Rich sweet dough
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon or cardamom
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup sugar
125g butter

Method

  1. Prepare the dough. When ready to shape, divide the dough in two equal portions. Pat into two greased 23 cm square tins. Mix the remaining ingredients until crumbly, and sprinkle over top of dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place, free from draughts, until doubled in bulk, for about 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 190°C. Bake for about 35 minutes. Remove from the tins and, if liked, drizzle a little glacé icing over the top. Serve warm.
