Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
345g caster sugar
125ml water
125g walnut pieces
pinch salt
1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract

Method

  1. Bring sugar and water to the boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Boil, without stirring, until thick and syrupy. Add walnuts, salt and vanilla, and cook for 2 minutes longer. Serve spooned over vanilla ice cream.
