Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
8 small whole beetroot, cooked and peeled
or 425g tinned baby beetroot, drained
60g butter
pinch salt
freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
55g brown sugar
1 lemon, juiced

Method

  1. Dice beetroot. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan, and stir over gentle heat until butter melts. Add beetroot and stir until heated through. Serve hot with pork, ham steaks or hamburgers.
