When we have guests for dinner we have several courses. We cook lots of dishes with all different sauces. Harry wears his best outfit and helps us to serve. We start with cheese twists – they’re called an ‘hors d’oeuvre’.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 sheets frozen puff pastry, just thawed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, finely grated
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, finely grated

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC. Line a large baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Place 1 sheet of pastry on a large chopping board. Brush with the egg and sprinkle evenly with the cheeses. Top with the remaining sheet of pastry and press down firmly. Cut into 2 cm wide strips and twist (there should be 4-5 twists in each strip).
  3. Place the twists on the tray and press the ends down firmly so they do not untwist. Bake for 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
