Grilled banana and chocolate sandwiches

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
4 slices thick white bread
vegan margarine, for spreading
2 ripe bananas
2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips

Method

  1. Heat a dry griddle pan over a high heat while you prepare the sandwiches.
  2. Spread only one side of the bread with margarine.
  3. In a small bowl, mash the bananas and stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Spoon the mixture onto the side of the bread with no margarine. Sandwich with the other slice of bread, so the margarine side is facing upwards. This will stop the sandwich sticking to the pan. Repeat for the other sandwich.
  5. Using a spatula, lift the sandwiches onto the hot griddle pan. Cook for 2–3 minutes until crisp before flipping over and cooking the other side.
  6. Slice in half and serve immediately.
