This unusual drink/ice cream/cocktail combination is just heavenly. It’s creamy, citrus-flavoured and sweet without being heavy. According to historian Francesco da Mosto, sgroppino comes from the word desgropante, which means ‘something that unties knots’ and therefore the drink aids digestion. Whatever the excuse for drinking it, kick off your heels at the end of a meal and enjoy!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 quantity Lemon ice cream
or 8 scoops shop-bought ice cream
4 tablespoons vodka
200ml prosecco

Method

  1. Put the ingredients together into a blender or smoothie maker and whizz briefly until frothy and smooth. Pour into large chilled wine glasses.
