Juices are practically like getting an injection of nutrients directly into your blood stream. Think of them as nature’s liquid medicine, and the best you can give your body. They re-charge, revive and re-fuel you within minutes. I particularly like this colourful juice because it’s almost as if you’re drinking a rainbow of health.

Ingredients

1 beetroot
1 cucumber
4 carrots
150g blueberries
2.5cm piece of fresh ginger

Method

  1. With this juice, there is no need to peel away any skin. Simply cut the beetroot, cucumber and carrots into quarters and add all the ingredients to your juicer.
  2. This juice is best when drunk immediately, however, if you want to drink it on the go, squeeze half a lemon into the bottom of your on-the-go container before adding the juice. This helps to slow down the oxidation process (i.e. during which nutrients are lost and the juice turns brown).

Note

  • if you need a stamina boost for your next gym session, beetroot has been shown to improve athletic performance. The juice can help your muscles work more efficiently and lower the oxygen uptake in the muscles as well.
