Citrus fruits are really at their best in the winter months in Australia. This fruit salad is juicy and zesty and if you want a grown-up kick, add a tablespoon of Cointreau.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 orange, peeled and segmented
6 mandarins, peeled and segmented
1 grapefruit, peeled and segmented
185ml orange juice
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon cointreau or brandy
2 tablespoons flaked almonds

Method

  1. Place all the fruit in a serving bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the juice, honey and liqueur. Pour over the fruit and combine well. Cover with plastic film and set aside.
  3. When ready to serve, remove plastic wrap and sprinkle the flaked almonds over.
  4. Serve with a bowl of yoghurt mixed with a little honey and some basil and mint leaves.
