Method

  1. Don't discard the apple peel when you make a pie or crumble. Put it in a saucepan along with a couple of leftover lemon shells, cover with water, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Add sugar to taste then leave it to cool. Strain and refrigerate.
