These are easy to make and a great addition to your toastie. No need for knives and forks; simply pick up your toastie with one hand and a carrot fry with the other – winner!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 tablespoon cornflour
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
pinch freshly ground black pepper
500g carrots, cut into long 1 cm thick fries
1 teaspoon sea salt

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 180ºC and line a baking tray with baking parchment. Mix the cornflour, oil, caraway seeds and black pepper in a large bowl. Toss the carrots in the mixture until they are thoroughly coated. Spread them out on the baking tray and bake for 40–45 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with the salt and serve.
