These delicious chocolate sandwiches can be made in minutes. Buttery and crunchy with chocolate oozing out of the edges, this provides you with a sweet, indulgent breakfast. I recommend dipping them in your hot breakfast drink of choice. I like mine dipped in a spicy chai.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
100g unsalted butter, softened
16 slices french baguette, cut on the diagonal
100g milk chocolate, broken into pieces

Method

  1. Butter one side of the baguette slices generously. Place 8 slices, buttered side down, on a piece of baking parchment on a work surface and cover each slice with chocolate, leaving a little space around the edges to allow for the chocolate melting. Top each slice with another slice of baguette, this time, buttered side up.
  2. Heat up a heavy-based frying pan or a skillet and fry the sandwiches in batches. Fry for about 3–4 minutes on each side, turning over once, until they are golden. Pile the golden chocolate sarnies high on a plate and serve – causing a frenzy.
