This juice was accidentally created one morning when I had only a very few ingredients and I fancied something spicy. I have called it a Green Virgin as you could add vodka if you feel so inclined! A Green Mary . . .? Well, that just doesn’t sound right. Or maybe it is Mary’s antidote.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 handfuls rocket
25g ginger, peeled
1/2 cucumber
1 apple, peeled and cored
1 green pepper, halved and seeds removed
3 pickled green jalapenos, (feel free to adjust to your own spice level)
mint leaves, to serve

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients into a food processor with a dash of water. Blend for 30 seconds. If you like a more watery consistency, add more water and blend again. Strain the mixture through a sieve over a bowl; discard the pulp in the sieve. If you have a juicer, you can use this to juice all the ingredients instead.
  2. Pour into a tall ice-filled glass and decorate with mint leaves or maybe just a slice of jalapeno if you prefer.
