At the turn of the nineteenth century, Swiss chocolatiers came to Brasil to make chocolate due to the abundance of cacao trees. They created this refreshing drink to cool them down in the hot climate.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1/2 lemon
1/2 lime
1 tablespoon caster sugar, or to taste
175ml soda water
handful ice cubes

Method

  1. Cut the lemon and lime into small wedges and place them in a sturdy glass or tumbler. Add the sugar and muddle the ingredients until the sugar has dissolved. Fill the glass two-thirds full with ice, then top with soda water. Stir well and serve immediately.
