A vitamina is a type of fruit shake found in juice bars all over Brasil. Avocados are often used, and their rich flesh gives the drink a silky texture. They’re full of nutrients such as fibre, potassium, vitamin E and folic acid – so this is not only delicious, but also good for you!

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 large avocado
1 large ripe banana
400ml whole or semi-skimmed milk
handful ice cubes
3-4 tablespoons runny honey, to taste
1/2 lime, zested and juiced

Method

  1. Halve and peel the avocado, remove the stone and chop the flesh into rough chunks. Peel and roughly chop the banana. Place them in a blender along with the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust the sweetness with more honey or a squeeze of lime. Pour into chilled tall glasses or tumblers and sprinkle the lime zest on top. Serve immediately.
