These fried bananas are served as an accompaniment lo rice and curries.

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
6 medium bananas, ripe but quite firm
oil, for frying
salt, for sprinkling

Method

  1. Peel the bananas, and if they are large, cut in half crossways. Smaller bananas can be cut down the centre lengthways.
  2. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium–high heat. Add the bananas and cook until brown all over — turn the bananas carefully, as they will break easily when hot. Lift out onto a small plate to serve, and sprinkle lightly with salt.
